Teadit North America's Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Programs
Starting with our products, one of the efforts we are most proud of in our efforts to be more “green” is our award winning Origin Technology which utilizes the winding of ePTFE material to produce gaskets therefore eliminating waste completely for these product lines. Our efforts to reduce and recycle through the technology were rewarded in 2019 with the prestigious, SEAL Award. This innovative technology is leading the industry in efforts to come up with new ways to create superior sealing products while reducing production emissions and waste. Another effort used to reduce waste are the recycling programs in place for both our metal and compressed fiber gasket scrap materials. All scrap from each of these departments is gathered and sent off to a recycling facility for the metal and a re-grinder for the compressed fiber materials. The goal is to reduce waste from each of these departments, and overall our facility. Anther recycling program we have implemented in production is in our Shipping Department. We take the pallets and crate material that we receive in from over seas containers and reuse what we can and then recycle the rest of the materials in our wood recycling container outside the plant.
Moving in to the office and administration portion of our facility, we have implemented recycle and reuse programs here as well. All lights inside the building are on motion sensor timers, therefore when employees are not using a certain room or office, the lights will automatically shut off to conserve energy. Our breakroom utilizes cups made from recycled materials for coffee and water consumption, and each employee has also been issued a reusable straw and mug. Last, but not least, is the recycling bins in each department to reduce paper waste. Teadit is constantly looking into new initiatives to meet the standard we have set for ourselves by being a company that takes the environmental concerns of both our industry, and the world as a whole, to heart.
