THE PASSING OF MARCO CALZINI

I deeply regret having to pass this information on but Marco Calzini passed away last night, December 11th, after a valiant fight against ALS. With his passing, Teadit North America…and the Teadit Group, lose a partner and a family member. Marco was with The Teadit Group for more than 30 years. He started in Rio working his way up to Plant Manager, then moving to Italy to run our Teadit Italia Operation and then to Teadit North America where he was our Operations Director and my partner. He was able to navigate his way through a new Country and a new market with dramatically different expectations then he was used to, but he adapted. He learned quickly and in short order was able to take us to places from a quality and organizational perspective that we needed to go but didn’t have the foresight to see. Marco came in and set standards for excellence when we really didn’t know we needed them. He put processes in place and developed statistical measurements so we would know how good we were or weren’t. He was the cement to the bricks. Marco’s last assignment for Teadit North America was to get us moved into our present building. That was what he wanted to have as his final work and he did it well.
Marco had a passion that I can’t really describe as it really didn’t have any bounds and it was not directed at only one thing. He was passionate about the company…His comments of “Heart” and “Wearing the T-Shirt” became common statements. He was passionate about Quality, regardless of whether it was for a product, a process or a relationship. He wanted and strived for quality in every aspect of his life and put all of his energy and passion into it. I’ve never seen a more dedicated individual to a company…or to his employees…or, most importantly…to his family. He was fiercely loyal but very generous. He was strong, stern but lovable. He was everything we all strive to be. He was a great business man but more, he was a beautiful human being. Our Hearts and prayers should go to his wife Sonia, and his Children, Flavio and Marina along with his granddaughter Abby.
I’ll close this by noting, if Heaven isn’t perfect already, it will be when Marco is done with it!!! I’ll miss you, we will all miss you!!!
